Sub-erect stoloniferous herbs, × perennial. Leaves 4-12 0.3-0.6 cm, lanceolate or lanceolate. Inflorescence of 2 racemes, 4-8 cm long. Sessile spikelets × 5.5-6 1.75-2 mm; lower glume 5-5.5 × 1.75-2 mm, oblong-lanceolate; upper × glume 5-5.5 1.5-2 mm, boat-shaped; lower floret male; lodicules 2, each 0.75-1 × 0.3-0.4 mm, oblong or obovate, 2-horned at apex; stamens 3, anthers 1.5-2 mm long, filaments short; upper floret bisexual; ovary × ca. 0.5 0.25 mm, oblong, styles 1.5-2 mm long, slender, stigmas 0.75-1 mm, long, feathery.
