Maavashu School is a government school centrally managed under Ministry of Education, Republic of Maldives. The name, Maavashu School is given based on its home community, Laamu Maavah. The school was founded on 31st October 1971 as a primary school with two classrooms (Moosa H. , 2003). After several developments throughout the decades, today the school provides education for Pre- School, Primary, Secondary and Higher Secondary students. Currently the school offers business stream, science stream and BTEC stream enrolment for the secondary and higher grades. Other than educational programs, several extra-curricular activities and uniform activities are organized to provide a holistic service. The school follows a motto “Etiquette with Education” with a vision to be an exemplary school of etiquette. The mission is to create an optimum conducive, secure and safe learning environment that would guide every student of Maavashu School to follow the Islamic faith, in light of which, they would become highly disciplined, and be aware of the world around us and instill the enthusiasm to acquire knowledge (Maavashu School, 2023).
