The name of the school was registered with the Ministry of Education on 02 September 1980 and on 12 October 1988, the name of the school was changed to Bileffahee school. Bileffahee was laid by the then Governor of Shaviyani Atoll, Mr. Mohammed Taufiq Kalefan. The school building was officially opened by the then Minister of Atolls, Al-Ustaz Abdullah Hameed. Bileffahee School opened on 13 January1990. The name of the school, ""Bileffahee School,"" belongs to the name of the Island. The school offers education from foundation to grade 10 The school teaches combined stream.
