Clinical information

Common uses

BRAF V600E-mutated melanoma that has spread or is inoperable
Erdheim-Chester disease with BRAF V600 mutation

Common side effects

joint pain
rash
hair loss
tiredness
sensitivity to sunlight

Cautions

new skin cancers can develop — regular skin checks
severe skin and allergic reactions can occur
heart rhythm and liver tests monitored during treatment
avoid sun exposure

Interactions

strong CYP3A4 inhibitors or inducers — avoid
CYP1A2-metabolised medicines — levels may rise; avoid narrow-margin drugs

Pregnancy: avoid — can harm an unborn baby; use effective contraception
