Common side effects

staining of deeper eye structures, usually clearing within a week
discoloration of some lens implants

Cautions

not used with certain dry-state acrylic lens implants
excess dye is rinsed out immediately after staining

Pregnancy: considered low risk — negligible absorption into the body
