Clinical information

Common uses

  • parkinsonism, often alongside levodopa
  • movement side effects caused by antipsychotic medicines

Common side effects

  • dry mouth
  • blurred vision
  • dizziness
  • mild nausea
  • nervousness

Cautions

  • eye pressure monitored regularly — glaucoma has occurred with long-term use
  • confusion or agitation possible in elderly or sensitive patients
  • overuse for euphoria can cause psychiatric disturbance
