Travoprost

An eye drop that lowers raised pressure inside the eye.

Clinical information

Common uses

  • open-angle glaucoma
  • high pressure in the eye (ocular hypertension)

Common side effects

  • eye redness

Cautions

  • can permanently darken the coloured part of the eye (iris)
  • eyelid darkening and eyelash changes can occur
  • not recommended for children under 16

Pregnancy: only if prescribed — potential risk to the baby
