Clinical information

Common uses

  • HER2-overexpressing breast cancer
  • HER2-overexpressing metastatic stomach cancer

Common side effects

  • headache
  • diarrhoea
  • feeling sick
  • chills
  • fever

Cautions

  • can weaken the heart — heart function checked before and during treatment
  • serious infusion reactions and lung problems can occur
  • can seriously harm an unborn baby — use effective contraception
  • can worsen chemotherapy-related low white blood cells

Interactions

  • anthracycline chemotherapy — higher heart risk; avoid for 7 months after

Pregnancy: avoid — can cause serious harm to the baby
