Clinical information

Common uses

  • steroid-responsive eye inflammation with bacterial infection risk

Common side effects

  • eyelid itching and swelling
  • eye redness

Cautions

  • not for viral, fungal or mycobacterial eye infections
  • prolonged use can raise eye pressure (glaucoma) and cause cataracts
  • prolonged use can allow secondary eye infections
  • for eye use only — never injected

Pregnancy: only if the benefit justifies the risk
