Tiotropium Bromide

A once-daily preventer inhaler that widens the airways in COPD and sometimes asthma.

Clinical information

Common uses

  • preventing COPD symptoms
  • preventing asthma symptoms

Common side effects

  • dry mouth

Cautions

  • use daily, even when you have no symptoms
  • tell your doctor about glaucoma, prostate or peeing problems, heart problems
  • seek help for blurred vision or red eyes (possible glaucoma)
  • too much can cause a fast heartbeat or blurred vision

Interactions

  • some medicines can increase side effects — check before starting anything new
