allergic reactions
slow or fast heartbeat
raised blood pressure
swelling of hands and feet
rash

Cautions

anaphylaxis has been reported
other medicines can make test results inaccurate

Interactions

glucocorticoids and spironolactone (falsely raise cortisol — stop on test day)
oestrogen-containing medicines (stop 4-6 weeks before testing)

Pregnancy: decades of use show no increased risk
