Clinical information

Common uses

gastrointestinal stromal tumour (GIST) after imatinib
advanced kidney cancer, and after kidney removal
pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours

Common side effects

tiredness and weakness
diarrhoea
mouth soreness (mucositis)
nausea and vomiting
hand-foot syndrome

Cautions

boxed warning: severe, sometimes fatal liver toxicity
heart problems and QT prolongation can occur
high blood pressure — monitor
can harm an unborn baby

Interactions

strong CYP3A4 inhibitors — dose reduction considered
strong CYP3A4 inducers — dose increase considered

Pregnancy: avoid — can harm the baby
