Clinical information

Common uses

  • RET fusion-positive non-small cell lung cancer
  • RET-mutant medullary thyroid cancer
  • other RET fusion-positive thyroid cancers and solid tumours

Common side effects

  • muscle and joint pain
  • swelling (oedema)
  • diarrhoea
  • tiredness
  • dry mouth

Cautions

  • liver toxicity — regular liver tests needed
  • can raise blood pressure and affect heart rhythm (QT)
  • serious lung inflammation possible
  • can harm an unborn baby — use contraception

Interactions

  • antacids and acid-reducing medicines — avoid or separate timing
  • strong or moderate CYP3A inhibitors — avoid or reduce dose
  • CYP3A inducers — avoid
  • QT-prolonging drugs — extra heart monitoring

Pregnancy: avoid — can harm an unborn baby
