Calcium channel blocker tablet that lowers blood pressure.

Clinical information

Common uses

high blood pressure, alone or with other medicines
lowering blood pressure to cut stroke and heart attack risk

Common side effects

ankle or leg swelling (dose-related)
tiredness
nausea and abdominal pain
sleepiness

Cautions

can cause symptomatic low blood pressure, especially in aortic stenosis
angina or heart attack can worsen when starting or increasing dose
dose increased slowly in severe liver disease

Interactions

simvastatin (limit simvastatin to 20 mg daily)
