Common uses

initial treatment of active tuberculosis, combined with other TB medicines

Common side effects

liver problems — the main side effect
feeling sick, vomiting and loss of appetite
joint and muscle aches

Cautions

not with severe liver damage or acute gout
liver and uric acid tests before and during treatment
stop if liver damage or a gout attack develops

Pregnancy: only if clearly needed
