high blood pressure

Common side effects

dizziness
headache
drowsiness
lack of energy or weakness
palpitations

Cautions

can cause fainting, especially after the first dose
always started at a low dose, increased slowly
avoid situations where injury could result from fainting

Interactions

other blood pressure medicines or diuretics — additive effect
beta blockers such as propranolol — risk of low blood pressure
PDE-5 inhibitors — can cause symptomatic low blood pressure

Pregnancy: only if prescribed — benefit must justify risk
