Clinical information

Common uses

  • Parkinson's disease
  • moderate-to-severe restless legs syndrome

Common side effects

  • feeling sick
  • dizziness
  • sleepiness
  • problems sleeping
  • constipation

Cautions

  • can cause sudden sleep during daily activities
  • can cause low blood pressure on standing
  • may trigger compulsive behaviours or intense urges
  • hallucinations can occur — risk increases with age

Interactions

  • dopamine antagonists — may reduce pramipexole's effect

Pregnancy: only if prescribed — animal data suggest possible harm
