Clinical information

Common uses

  • steroid-responsive eye inflammation with bacterial infection risk

Common side effects

  • allergic sensitisation (itching, redness, rash)
  • raised pressure inside the eye
  • delayed healing

Cautions

  • not for viral, fungal or mycobacterial eye infections
  • prolonged use can cause glaucoma and cataract — check eye pressure after 10 days
  • not for injection into the eye
  • neomycin can cause skin sensitisation
