Clinical information

Common uses

reduce infection risk (febrile neutropenia) during chemotherapy
improve survival after high-dose radiation exposure

Common side effects

bone pain
pain in the arms or legs

Cautions

report left upper tummy or shoulder pain — possible spleen rupture
serious allergic reactions including anaphylaxis can occur
can trigger sickle cell crises in sickle cell disorders
breathing problems with fever need urgent review (ARDS)
