Palbociclib is a targeted tablet for hormone receptor-positive advanced breast cancer.

Clinical information

Common uses

  • HR-positive, HER2-negative advanced breast cancer (with hormone therapy)

Common side effects

  • low white blood cells
  • infections
  • tiredness
  • feeling sick
  • mouth soreness and diarrhoea

Cautions

  • low white cells common — regular blood counts
  • lung inflammation can be severe — report breathing problems
  • can harm an unborn baby — contraception needed

Interactions

  • strong CYP3A inhibitors — avoid or reduce dose
  • strong CYP3A inducers — avoid
  • sensitive CYP3A substrates — their doses may need lowering

Pregnancy: can harm an unborn baby — avoid
