Palbociclib is a targeted tablet for hormone receptor-positive advanced breast cancer.

Clinical information

Common uses

HR-positive, HER2-negative advanced breast cancer (with hormone therapy)

Common side effects

low white blood cells
infections
tiredness
feeling sick
mouth soreness and diarrhoea

Cautions

low white cells common — regular blood counts
lung inflammation can be severe — report breathing problems
can harm an unborn baby — contraception needed

Interactions

strong CYP3A inhibitors — avoid or reduce dose
strong CYP3A inducers — avoid
sensitive CYP3A substrates — their doses may need lowering

Pregnancy: can harm an unborn baby — avoid
