Nystatin

Nystatin is an antifungal medicine for oral thrush and fungal skin infections.

Clinical information

Common uses

  • oral thrush (mouth thrush)
  • fungal skin infections (in combination creams)
  • preventing fungal infections

Common side effects

  • diarrhoea
  • feeling sick
  • being sick
  • skin irritation from creams

Cautions

  • keep taking for 2 days after symptoms clear
  • do not eat or drink for 30 minutes after the liquid
  • liquid contains a small amount of sucrose
  • see a doctor if not better after 7 days
