Nortriptyline is a tricyclic antidepressant used to treat depression and nerve pain.

dry mouth

Cautions

do not stop suddenly — withdrawal effects possible
may not suit people with heart problems, epilepsy or glaucoma
can make you sleepy — take care driving
get urgent help for thoughts of self-harm

Interactions

opioid painkillers (codeine, morphine, tramadol) — extra drowsiness
other antidepressants — risk of very high blood pressure
sodium valproate and cimetidine — raise nortriptyline levels
St John's wort — do not take
cannabis and recreational drugs — can be dangerous

Pregnancy: may be continued in pregnancy — discuss with your doctor
