Nivolumab is an immunotherapy antibody used to treat many advanced cancers.

Clinical information

Common uses

kidney, lung, and head and neck cancers
melanoma (skin cancer)
bladder, bowel, liver, stomach and oesophageal cancers

Common side effects

tiredness
muscle and joint pain
rash
itching
diarrhoea

Cautions

immune attacks on organs can be severe or fatal
regular liver, kidney and thyroid blood tests needed
can harm an unborn baby — use effective contraception
do not breastfeed during and 5 months after treatment

Pregnancy: can harm an unborn baby — avoid
