Nintedanib is a capsule for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and other progressive fibrosing lung diseases.

Clinical information

Common uses

idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF)
progressive chronic fibrosing interstitial lung diseases

Common side effects

diarrhoea
feeling sick
stomach pain
vomiting
decreased appetite

Cautions

can cause liver injury — regular liver blood tests needed
can harm an unborn baby — use effective contraception
risk of bleeding and gut perforation
not recommended with moderate or severe liver problems

Interactions

P-gp and CYP3A4 inhibitors — may raise nintedanib levels
smoking lowers nintedanib levels

Pregnancy: can harm an unborn baby — avoid
