Nepafenac

Nepafenac is an anti-inflammatory eye drop for pain and inflammation after cataract surgery.

Clinical information

Common uses

pain after cataract surgery
inflammation after cataract surgery

Common side effects

clouding in the eye (capsular opacity)
reduced vision
feeling of something in the eye
increased eye pressure
sticky sensation in the eye

Cautions

not for people allergic to NSAIDs
may delay healing after surgery
may increase bleeding time
corneal problems such as keratitis can occur

Pregnancy: avoid in late pregnancy — otherwise only if benefit outweighs risk
