Mitomycin chemotherapy injection (given in sodium chloride solution) for stomach and pancreatic cancer.

Clinical information

Common uses

stomach or pancreas cancer, in combination chemotherapy
palliative treatment when other options have failed

Cautions

strongly suppresses bone marrow — blood counts checked during and 8 weeks after
not with low platelets, clotting disorders or bleeding tendency
kidney function must be monitored

Pregnancy: avoid — safety not established, harm seen in animal studies
