Clinical information

Common uses

anaemia of chronic kidney disease, on or off dialysis
children 3 months and older converting from another ESA

Common side effects

high blood pressure
diarrhoea
cold-like symptoms

Cautions

raises risk of death, heart attack, stroke and blood clots
not for anaemia caused by cancer chemotherapy
blood pressure must be controlled; seizure risk monitored
stop for serious allergic or severe skin reactions

Pregnancy: insufficient human data — kidney disease itself carries risks
