Clinical information

Common uses

preventing rotavirus gastroenteritis (G1 and non-G1 types)
infants from 6 weeks up to 24 weeks, 2 doses

Common side effects

fussiness or irritability
cough or runny nose
fever
loss of appetite
vomiting

Cautions

small risk of intussusception (bowel folding), mostly within 7 days
not with previous intussusception or certain bowel malformations
not with severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID)
delayed during acute diarrhoea or vomiting; applicator cap contains latex
