Clinical information

Common uses

stable chronic heart failure with reduced ejection fraction

Common side effects

slow heartbeat
high blood pressure
atrial fibrillation (irregular heartbeat)
temporary brightness in vision (phosphenes)

Cautions

monitored for atrial fibrillation and slow heart rate
not with certain heart block or very low blood pressure
not with severe liver impairment
can harm an unborn baby — use contraception

Interactions

strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (contraindicated)
CYP3A4 inducers (avoid)
other heart-rate-lowering medicines (bradycardia risk)

Pregnancy: avoid — may harm an unborn baby
