Ifosfamide

Clinical information

Common uses

germ cell testicular cancer (third-line, in combination)

Common side effects

hair loss
feeling or being sick
blood in the urine
low blood counts
infections

Cautions

severe bone marrow suppression can cause fatal infections
brain effects (encephalopathy) can be severe
kidney damage and bladder bleeding; mesna protects the bladder
can impair fertility in men and women

Interactions

CYP3A4 inducer medicines (more toxicity)
CYP3A4 inhibitor medicines (may reduce effectiveness)

Pregnancy: avoid — can harm an unborn baby
