Common uses

moderate to severe melasma of the face, short-term, with sun avoidance

Common side effects

skin redness
peeling
burning
dryness
itching

Cautions

contains tretinoin, which can harm an unborn baby
contains a sulfite that can cause serious allergic reactions
hydroquinone can cause blue-black skin darkening (ochronosis) — stop if seen
use sunscreen and avoid sun exposure

Pregnancy: avoid — contains tretinoin; only if benefit justifies the risk
