Common uses

high blood pressure, alone or with other medicines

Cautions

can cause a lupus-like illness — report joint pain or unexplained fever
not for people with coronary artery disease
not for mitral valve rheumatic heart disease

Interactions

MAO inhibitors — use with caution
diazoxide and other strong injectable blood-pressure drugs — severe pressure falls

Pregnancy: only if the expected benefit justifies the risk
