A hormone injection used for fertility problems and undescended testicles in boys.

Clinical information

Common uses

undescended testicles (cryptorchidism) in boys
low hormone levels in males (hypogonadotropic hypogonadism)
triggering ovulation in fertility treatment

Common side effects

headache
irritability or restlessness
tiredness
swelling (oedema)
pain at the injection site

Cautions

not effective for weight loss
may trigger early puberty in boys — stop if signs appear
ovarian overstimulation risk in fertility treatment
allergic reactions reported
