Common uses

preventing nausea and vomiting from chemotherapy, with other anti-sickness medicines

Common side effects

injection site pain, bruising or lumps
constipation
tiredness
headache
diarrhoea

Cautions

injection site reactions can appear 2 weeks or more later
watch for constipation or reduced bowel activity
serious allergic reactions can occur up to 7 days later
risk of serotonin syndrome with certain other medicines

Interactions

serotonergic drugs (e.g. some antidepressants) — serotonin syndrome risk
