A hormone-therapy injection for advanced hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer in postmenopausal women.

Clinical information

Common uses

  • HR-positive, HER2-negative advanced breast cancer, used alone
  • advanced breast cancer with ribociclib, palbociclib or abemaciclib

Common side effects

  • injection site pain
  • nausea
  • bone or joint pain
  • headache
  • hot flushes

Cautions

  • bleeding risk — caution with blood thinners or low platelets
  • can harm an unborn baby — effective contraception needed
  • injection site is near the sciatic nerve — careful technique needed
  • raised liver enzymes are common

Pregnancy: avoid — can harm the unborn baby
