Fosinopril Sodium

An ACE inhibitor tablet for high blood pressure and heart failure.

Clinical information

Common uses

  • high blood pressure
  • heart failure, added to standard treatment

Common side effects

  • cough
  • dizziness
  • nausea or vomiting
  • headache
  • fatigue

Cautions

  • can harm an unborn baby — stop as soon as pregnancy detected
  • angioedema (face, tongue or throat swelling) can be fatal
  • can cause marked low blood pressure, especially if dehydrated
  • rare liver failure and white blood cell problems

Interactions

  • diuretics (risk of excessive blood pressure drop)

Pregnancy: avoid — harmful to the unborn baby
