Cautions

blood pressure monitored closely with interacting drugs
repeated doses can stop working (tolerance)

Interactions

oxytocin-type drugs (dangerous blood pressure rise)
MAOI antidepressants, clonidine, atropine (stronger effect)
beta blockers and alpha blockers (weaker effect)
digoxin-type heart drugs (rhythm problems)
guanethidine (blood pressure drug stops working)
theophylline (more nausea, nervousness, insomnia)

Pregnancy: no known risk of birth defects from available data
