functional bowel / irritable bowel syndrome

Common side effects

dizziness
dry mouth
blurred vision
feeling sick
sleepiness

Cautions

reduces sweating — heat stroke possible in hot weather
can cause confusion or delirium, especially in older people
not with glaucoma, myasthenia gravis or gut/urinary blockage
not for babies under 6 months or breastfeeding mothers

Interactions

glaucoma eye medicines — effect opposed, eye pressure may rise
other anticholinergic medicines — side effects add up
antacids — reduce absorption, avoid taking together
