Clinical information

Common uses

  • eye inflammation where bacterial infection is likely
  • eye injury from chemicals, burns or foreign bodies

Common side effects

  • allergic skin or eye reactions
  • raised pressure in the eye
  • cataract formation
  • delayed wound healing

Cautions

  • not for viral, fungal or TB eye infections
  • prolonged use can cause glaucoma and cataracts
  • eye pressure should be checked if used 10 days or longer
  • not for injection
