Common uses
- ALK/ROS1-positive metastatic non-small cell lung cancer
- ALK-positive anaplastic large cell lymphoma (children, young adults)
- ALK-positive inflammatory myofibroblastic tumour
Common side effects
- vision problems
- nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea
- swelling (oedema) and constipation
- tiredness and reduced appetite
- dizziness and nerve symptoms
Cautions
- can cause fatal liver damage — regular liver tests
- lung inflammation (pneumonitis) — stop permanently if it occurs
- heart rhythm changes and slow heartbeat
- can harm an unborn baby — use contraception
Interactions
- strong CYP3A inhibitors — avoid
- strong CYP3A inducers — avoid
- sensitive CYP3A substrate drugs — avoid
Pregnancy: avoid — can harm the baby
