Clomifene

Clomifene (clomiphene citrate) is a fertility tablet that stimulates ovulation in women with ovulatory dysfunction.

Clinical information

Common uses

ovulatory dysfunction in women desiring pregnancy
includes polycystic ovary syndrome

Common side effects

ovarian enlargement
hot flushes
abdominal bloating or discomfort
nausea and vomiting
breast discomfort

Cautions

blurred vision or visual disturbances — stop and get eyes checked
ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome can develop and become serious
not with liver disease, ovarian cysts or unexplained bleeding
not recommended beyond about six treatment cycles
