Clinical information

Common uses

  • bacterial vaginosis (vaginal cream)

Cautions

  • can cause serious diarrhoea/colitis, even used vaginally
  • avoid with a history of bowel inflammation or antibiotic colitis
  • avoid if allergic to clindamycin or lincomycin

Interactions

  • surgical muscle relaxants (neuromuscular blocking agents)

Pregnancy: can be used in the second and third trimesters
