Clemastine

An antihistamine tablet for allergy symptoms such as sneezing and itching.

Clinical information

Common uses

allergic rhinitis (sneezing, runny nose, itchy watery eyes)
hives and swelling (urticaria, angioedema)

Common side effects

drowsiness (usually passes)

Cautions

not established for children under 12
contraindicated while breastfeeding
caution with glaucoma, stomach ulcer or prostate problems
may impair driving and alertness

Interactions

MAO inhibitors (intensify drying effects)
alcohol and other sedatives (added drowsiness)
