Common uses

ALK-positive metastatic non-small cell lung cancer

Common side effects

diarrhoea
nausea and vomiting
stomach pain
tiredness

Cautions

can damage the liver — monthly liver blood tests
lung inflammation (pneumonitis) means stopping permanently
heart rhythm changes, slow heart rate, high blood sugar possible
can harm an unborn baby — use effective contraception

Interactions

strong CYP3A inhibitors or inducers — avoid
sensitive CYP3A substrate medicines — avoid
some CYP2C9 substrate medicines — avoid

Pregnancy: avoid — can harm an unborn baby
