An oral cephalosporin antibiotic for mild to moderate bacterial infections.

Clinical information

Common uses

ear infections, sinusitis, sore throat
pneumonia and flare-ups of chronic bronchitis
gonorrhoea
skin and urinary tract infections

Cautions

not for people allergic to cephalosporin antibiotics
penicillin allergy: up to 1 in 10 may also react
diarrhoea can signal C. difficile colitis
