Bleomycin Sulphate

A chemotherapy injection used as palliative treatment for several cancers.

Clinical information

Common uses

squamous cell cancers (head and neck, cervix, others)
Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphoma
testicular cancer
malignant pleural effusion (as a sclerosing agent)

Cautions

lung damage (pulmonary fibrosis) is the most severe risk
severe reaction with fever, chills and wheezing in some lymphoma patients
kidney or liver harm can occur at any time
extreme caution with poor kidney or lung function

Pregnancy: avoid — can harm the unborn baby
