Betahistine Dihydrochloride

A tablet used to treat the vertigo, tinnitus and sickness of Ménière's disease.

Clinical information

Common uses

  • dizziness and vertigo in Ménière's disease
  • ringing in the ears (tinnitus)
  • reducing how often Ménière's attacks happen

Common side effects

  • feeling sick
  • indigestion
  • bloating or mild stomach ache
  • headache

Cautions

  • take with or after food to protect your stomach
  • may not suit asthma or a past stomach ulcer
  • not with high blood pressure caused by an adrenal tumour

Interactions

  • MAO inhibitors (for depression or Parkinson's)
  • antihistamines
