Common side effects

diarrhoea
rash

Cautions

not for people with serious penicillin or beta-lactam allergy
can cause severe skin reactions — stop if a rash worsens
not after past jaundice or liver problems with this medicine

Interactions

probenecid (raises and prolongs antibiotic levels)
allopurinol (more skin rashes)
aminoglycoside antibiotics (do not mix in the same solution)

Pregnancy: only if clearly needed
