Common uses

acute ischaemic stroke
acute myocardial infarction
acute massive pulmonary embolism

Common side effects

bleeding

Cautions

not with active internal bleeding
not soon after brain or spine surgery or head trauma
not with severe uncontrolled high blood pressure
monitored for allergic reactions during and after infusion

Interactions

anticoagulants and antiplatelet drugs (bleeding risk)
ACE inhibitors (angioedema risk)

Pregnancy: insufficient data to assess risk
