Clinical information

Common uses

  • hypovolaemia (low blood volume)
  • cardiopulmonary bypass procedures
  • hypoalbuminaemia
  • plasma exchange

Common side effects

  • allergic-type (anaphylactoid) reactions

Cautions

  • not for severe anaemia or heart failure with normal volume
  • fluid overload possible — infusion rate adjusted
  • made from human blood — extremely remote infection risk

Interactions

  • must not be mixed with other medicinal products
